Subject: Pension Reform Campaign
I have attached the materials necessary for a grassroots campaign involving your Montana Senators in regards to the Grassley-Alexander White Paper. This proposed plan would be devastating to all of the IBEW’s multiemployer pension plans.
The attached documents are as follows:
1. Multiemployer Pension Recapitalization and Reform Plan – This provides a summary of the issues and concerns we are facing with the White Paper. CLICK HERE
2. Senate Talking Points – Talking points for meetings with your Senators. CLICK HERE
3. Senate Phone Script – For your members who can’t meet with the Senator or their staff representative. CLICK HERE
4. Senate Offices – Office and contact information for your Senators. CLICK HERE
The bios have a QR code with instructions on how to log the details of each meeting. It is very important that we get this feedback entered as soon as you finish your meeting with a Senator. This will provide us with information on how the meeting went and how well the message was received for potential future follow-up by our Political Department.
President Stephenson has also recorded a video to share with members which can be found on IBEW social media outlets or at www.IBEW.org under the “IBEW News and Media Center” tab.
If your local union has a retiree club, I encourage you to share this information with them and arrange meetings with the Senators as well.
If you have any questions, please contact your assigned International Representative and we will all be happy to assist.
