Liam is a bright, brave 10-year-old from Avon, Montana, who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. He is currently receiving treatment at Children’s Hospital in Denver, nearly 900 miles from home. To be by his son’s side, Liam’s father, Shannon, has taken unpaid leave of absence from work. He is staying in Denver to support Liam through treatment and help him face this difficult battle with strength and love.
Treatment and Family Support
Shannon shares that Liam’s healthcare team has been doing an impressive job managing his complicated treatment plan. Everyone remains hopeful that Liam will one day ring the bell to celebrate the end of treatment. At the same time, the costs of travel, daily living expenses, and medical bills not fully covered by insurance are quickly adding up. Support from family, friends, and the community will help ease this financial burden so Liam and his family can focus on his recovery and well-being. Shannon is especially grateful for the Ronald McDonald House, which has provided a safe, supportive place for him to stay while Liam receives care in Denver.
A Father’s Love
I know Liam—affectionately known as “Peanut”—through the many stories Shannon has shared over the years. Shannon and I have worked together for a long time, and hardly any work conversation goes by without him mentioning Liam. Liam is truly the apple of his father’s eye, often with his loyal sidekick Hazel by his side.
How You Can Help
Please consider helping Liam and his family during this challenging time. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference by helping cover travel, lodging, living expenses, and medical costs. Your kindness and generosity will give Liam, Shannon, and their family hope, strength, and comfort as they navigate this journey together.
